The Barton Court facility at Kintbury, near Hungerford has now closed and no further waste material is being accepted into the transfer station.
Restoration of the site has commenced and planning permission requires that this work is completed by 30 June 2018. Part of this restoration will include the creation of an area that is attractive to bees and other small wildlife.
Hills will remain responsible for the environmental management of the site, and the aftercare phase of the site will continue to be regulated by the Environment Agency. The aftercare period will last for a period of 5 years following final restoration.
Hills operates a liaison committee for the site which includes representatives from West Berkshire District Council and Kintbury Parish Council.
