Hills Quarry Products Ltd has operated at Bowling Green Farm Quarry, and the adjoining Chinham Farm, since 1987. The site is one of the only operations providing soft sand in the southern part of the County of Oxfordshire.

The company has received planning permission for an extension on land known as Chinham Hill, which lies immediately adjacent to the first extraction area of the Bowling Green Farm Quarry complex. It represents the last workable part of the sand deposit in the vicinity of the first extraction area and, had the land not been in separate ownership, would have been extracted many years ago.
