Hills created a Good Driving Charter in December 2011 to show its commitment to high standards of road use and good driving behaviour as well as minimising the impact its transport has on the communities it works in. All Hills’ drivers are required to sign the good driving charter.

Hills is also a member of the ‘How’s My Driving?’ (HMD) road safety scheme. HMD is endorsed by the Freight Transport Association and the scheme aims to reduce the risk of road accidents, by reminding drivers to concentrate on their driving style. Each Hills vehicle is fitted with a highly visible yellow and black (HMD) sticker displaying a reference number unique to the vehicle.
